More people are helping aging loved ones manage complex health conditions. In the U.S., a quarter of adult children provide care or assistance to their parents. Rural areas are aging more rapidly, with fewer resources to address unique challenges.
We need a team effort to support the healthy aging of our communities.
That’s why we established the Center for Aging Research and Education in 2011. CARE:
- Prepares healthcare professionals and direct care staff to work with older adults
- Fosters inter-professional and campus-community collaborations to improve older adults’ quality of life
- Translates and delivers nursing expertise to family members, community organizations, and housing and service providers, to make it easier for everyone to support older adult health.
Through nursing leadership, discovery, education and practice, CARE improves the health and well-being of older adults.
